I haven't been blogging much lately, and the reason is that "Passions" has me depressed.
It's this current Rome mess and how little the writers have put into it. There are so many plot holes, that it's not even fun to make fun of. Do they give a damn about the viewers at all? It's so relentlessly poor that it degrades us to watch it.
Take the Noah-Fancy plot, which we've recently learned was all engineered by Alistair. It just makes no sense at all. If Alistair didn't want Fancy to date Noah, all he had to do was tell her. She would have obeyed him. Make her move to a different country if she doesn't. If Alistair wanted Noah dead, he could have just hired a hit man. The whole thing about Lena and Maya, with the mysterious murder in the attic, it all comes to nothing. There's no satisfying story behind it all. The writers simply say "Alistair did it," and we're supposed to be happy with that. But none of it makes sense and it pisses me off that they'd offer something this poor to the viewers.
All of the current plots have the same gigantic holes. I keep hoping that once the show moves beyond the mandatory summertime event, that things will get better. I don't know if it's true, but I can hope.
